We're really good at eating where I work, as just said by one of the reception clerks. She's right. Professional-level eating? Nah. But for an almost-exclusively female group, we do pretty well for ourselves.
One of the doctors at our health care center is leaving us tomorrow and she will be very missed. To thank us for working with her, she brought in Trini food for lunch.
I haven't had Trini food before and I *love* trying food from different areas. But as someone who's been a veg for more time in her life than a meat-eater, I get skeptical when eating meat prepared in new ways.
So I loaded my plate with salad, took a plantain (they looked greasy and I hate when they're greasy. Big mistake- should have taken another as it was the best one I've ever had), a spot of potatoes, some rice, and a piece of chicken.
Yeah, that's a chickenless plate. Well, there is that hunk-a cartilage. I took one bite of the chicken before taking the picture to determine if I should remove it before it touched the rest of my food. And then my mouth took over my hands and...all gone.
The rice was even yummy. I'm incredibly picky on rice and rarely find some I'm willing to eat.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang, that was yummy.
Thanks, Dr. Clarke. You will be missed!
